WEATHER AND OUTFIT
While most days during the summer are warm it can be quite chilly during the early morning hours and
evenings, especially when you first arrive in June. Therefore, it is necessary to bring warm clothes
such as sweatshirts and light jackets as well as long pants for all occasions. Rain gear is also essential
including boots for the muddy conditions after a rainstorm.
BEDDING
American and Canadian staff members should bring bed sheets, blankets and a pillow. You should bring 2 - 3 good
blankets. Counselors from overseas will be provided with bedding. Sleeping bags should not be used in the cabins
as your primary bedding. Everyone needs to bring their own towels for showering and washing.
PACKING GUIDE
All staff members will be given a staff shirt during orientation. Please be sure that all other outfits worn
during your time 'on duty' at camp are solid colors (college logos or athletic logos are OK). Neither girls nor
counselors are permitted to wear name-brand clothes with designs, prominent logos, or sayings to any regular camp
activities. Mid-driffs shirts are not allowed. We have these rules regarding dress in place because we are trying
to cut down on the clothing competition among the campers and be role models for our campers. Your co-operation
as a role model in setting this standard is essential. *Note: Counselors must always wear shoes, sneakers, sandals,
or some-other proper foot covering while on camp grounds.

It is also important for staff to bring items that pertain to their individual program. Softball counselors
should bring their gloves, golfers their clubs, etc. Bring your own tennis racket as we do not allow staff to
borrow equipment from campers. We do not want you in the position of borrowing a camper's expensive item and having
it break. Please note that unfortunate past experiences have dictated that this must be a firm rule.
Specific questions about program areas can generally be summarized by stating that camp has most everything you need to
run a program that we offer or that we ask you to run. If you have some unique equipment or paraphernalia that would
enhance our program and you think it is unlikely that we would have this on hand, please feel free to bring these items
with you to camp.
LAUNDRY
We have laundry facilities in camp. Kippewa laundry service is done once per week in camp and clothing is returned
the same day. Please do not send good clothes through the camp laundry service as they may be discolored when returned.
You are welcome to do you own laundry at a local laundry mat on your night off.
NO VALUABLES TO CAMP
We urge staff not to bring valuables or much cash to camp. Please use travelers checks. We cannot be responsible for
articles such as watches, cameras, or radios that are left in camp buildings.
